Cheated by HP ?

Recommended Posts

out of the box Win2K compatibility for the Deskjet 840C .... yeah right, no way to install the NT drivers and no Win2K drivers in the CD...

Any way to get my 840C printer to work under Win2K ? Any ideas as to when the Win2K drivers will be ready ?

Thanks !

The printer came with 2 disks one for Mac and one for Win98/NT...

There isn't any Win2000 cd... Or drivers.

HP site claims the Win2K drivers will be released Mid-March perhaps they are using a different calendar or something.

ledzeppl is refering to the Win2K cd that you installed w2k from. if you don't have that, then you're SOL.

Sorry... the drivers are not in the Win2K CD

and the 840C is not listed in HP printer models...

And what SOL means ?

SOL means "sh1t out of luck"

Have you looked at HP's support site? They have W2K drivers (some beta) for most printers, and a schedule for release of full drivers.

I force-installed the 970CXI W2K driver from HP's home page for my 832C... can't do a print-head calibration, but do work just fine without any hitches or graphic errors.

HP's site sucks I searched that site for 840c and windows 2000 found out it was supposed to be "mid-may" and was gonna contact tech support and see what the deal was but they wanted everything almost down to my mom's maiden name f*ck that. So don't go out and buy HP products they are crap and their support sucks frown:P at HP
