win2k4ever 0 Posted August 5, 2008 Hi, This is my first post, so apologies if this is the wrong section of the forums or I'm not allowed to ask this. Basically, I use Windows 2000 and am perfectly happy with it, and don't want ot upgrade unless I have to. But there's a couple of web sites that when I try to use them it says I must have WMP11 and I can only go to WMP9. So, Has anyone ever managed to get WMP11 installed and working (even if only partially) on Windows 2000? If not, could anyone suggest how I go about trying, as there's no .msi file to edit with Orca? Is there any way with regedit I can fool the installer into thinking I'm on XP? Is there any other forums where you think people might know this? Or is it just impossible? DosFreak 2 Posted August 5, 2008 Supposedly the Known Dlls Wrapper will do it: http://www7.atwiki.jp/win2000/pages/17.html Don't know what the procedure for installing Media Player 11 on 2000 to use the wrapper files would be though. Share this post Link to post

DosFreak 2 Posted November 17, 2009 Check here if you want WMP10 on Windows 2000. If WMP11 is possible he'd be the one to do it. http://blog.livedoor.jp/blackwingcat/ Thread closed. Share this post Link to post
