Kyosho46vr 0 Posted April 27, 2000 My machine hase been up and running a month just fine and speedy. Last night I launched ICQ and ICQ itself locked and wouldn't respond. I reloaded ICQ and the same thing happened. I went to re-boot and then this is the error message I got NTOSKRNL.EXE is corrupt install a new copy. Any thoughts? TIA Ned Share this post Link to post
mickbench 0 Posted April 27, 2000 The NTOSKRNL.EXE file is just as important as the NTLDR and without it, your system isn't going to do much more... Its used by the system and the Kernel. In other words, you need to do a repair install... This will re-copy the file that is broken. It belongs in the %systemroot%\system32 folder and doing a repair will replace this file. It will also do system checks on your Drives to ensure you haven't got a bad sector.. Good Luck..!!! Share this post Link to post
Yearout 0 Posted April 27, 2000 Well every time I got that it was because I just installed a new program and it did not like it. I would just delete the files the program installed. You just need to know what dll and sys files it installed. Now that is sometimes. Share this post Link to post
