Arin 0 Posted April 18, 2000 I fixed that terrible problem in device manager that when you install a device it gives you an error about the files not being found even thou they were found. go to the ms update thing in your start menu, and go to the history of installed devices if you have allready installed stuff, and click to reinstall everything or download everything except ie 5.5! that worked for me! ouwwwwch! ------------------ Athalon 500 196mb Ram 3D prophet ddr-dvi geforce SB Live! sound card. biostar m7mka mobo 20 gig maxtor and 3.5 gig fireball 32x tosheba, and adaptec scsi mitsuia cdr 2x4x ms internet keyboard pro ms intellimouse explorer 640k DSL on wintell modem with linksys dsl router 100mbit dlink nic w/wol Share this post Link to post
AMGHAMMER 0 Posted April 19, 2000 It works! You rock! Don't know what fixed it, but I pulled all the DL's and on re-boot... life was good again. Share this post Link to post
BaUdRaTe 0 Posted April 19, 2000 Excellent! It worked for me. Now I'm off the crappy Microsoft NVidia video driver. You're good. Very, very good. Share this post Link to post
AMGHAMMER 0 Posted April 19, 2000 Only one problem, if you want to change your video driver again... you need to do this process all over. I think it has to do with the Win2000 Driver Update because the first two service packs don't do it. Still trying to narrow down which patch resets the issue. Share this post Link to post
riz 0 Posted April 30, 2000 hey guys, i was going nuts because it wouldn'tinstall any device drivers for me. After reading this post, i just tried uninstalling IE 5.5 rather that going to WindowsUpdate (mainly 'cause my network card was also not installing!). Guess what? It worked out better, since now I can change drivers normally again, instead of having to do this everytime as AGMHAMMER pointed out regards riz Share this post Link to post
