Palos 0 Posted August 19, 2002 Well, how can I upgrade my KDE to 3.0.3 for example? I saw different possibilities, including using a frontend for APT, that requires only a few steps to install and upgrade. Did anyone try it, or has easy ways to do this? Share this post Link to post
Palos 0 Posted August 20, 2002 Hmm, nevermind, I found it easier to download the RPMs from www.kde.org and install 3.0.3 alongside 2.2. WOW it looks good, esp. with the Liquid theme and the Conectiva Crystal Icons Share this post Link to post
Philipp 6 Posted August 21, 2002 I check it out tomorrow. KDE 3.0.3 is also included in the latest beta release of Red Hat 7.4 which I download right now Btw are there any websites about APT on Mandrake? I noticed that an official APT package is now in cooker. Share this post Link to post
Palos 0 Posted August 21, 2002 Look for Synaptic...i think there is a guide on pclinuxonline.com The RPMs are here: ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/contrib/texstar/apt/Mandrake/ Download all 4 of them, install Synaptic and you will have an Icon on the desktop (or in the menu, under configuration, package management). Don't forget to copy the "sources.list" file in /etc/apt. Share this post Link to post
