crayola 0 Posted May 8, 2000 Ok. I can't get Win2000 to load. When I try to install I get one of two things to happen: #1 The install runs and I get random different files each time that say "invalid win2000 image file, please check cd or insert cd. hit return to retry" or "file cannot be copied, please press ESC to continue" Upon pushing ESC the install either continues to run or I get a blue screen that states "an error has occurred. invalid page fault in ntoskrnl.exe" then the memory dump stuff. #2 The install runs I get same errors as above minus the blue screen. I can escape the files that cannot be copied and upon the system restart when Win2000 starts to boot... Once I get to the first screen it says "syssetup.inf is corrupted or cannot be found" upon choosing 'close' the system reboots. My systems specs are as follows: AMD Athlon 700 Asus K7M w/o Sound 32MB GeForce SDR AGP 3COM 10/100 NIC Soundblaster Live Value Plextor CDRW 8/4/32A Toshiba DVD Rom Maxtor 20GIG 7200 RPM 384MB PC100 (3 128 dimms) NOTE: Win98 will load fine. Noope 0 Posted May 8, 2000 Hi, first try: to format your harddisk, copy the i386 folder of your W2K CD to C:\i386 and start the installation from your harddisk. Do not boot or install from the W2K cd. Before you start the winnt.exe load smartdrv - is much faster ! if this do not work: second thy: to install with a different graphic card.
