FrogMaster 0 Posted May 13, 2000 It seems that some batches of BP6 motherboards have a defective VTT voltage regulator which causes random lock-ups. You may want to have a look at www.bp6.com for the full story, the serial numbers involved and a possible fix. Share this post Link to post
Vicman 0 Posted May 13, 2000 It's true man, it's true! I never experienced the random lock up problems. The problem I had was with startup. The computer would not even post, it would just keep cycling the hard drives and cd's over and over. Then every now and again it would eventually start, sometimes it wouldn't. I'd even leave it on for an hour or two sometimes and it would just keep cycling. I know that's not good, but I was so pissed at it I didn't care. Then someone told me that some of the BP6's had these and similar problems due to voltage problems. And that a simple replacement MoBo wold fix it. I bought a new one and it's worked perfectly since January.. I can't find the receipt for the other one, so I can't return it, I have one of the "bad" MoBo's if someone's interested.. I'll sell it cheap! Share this post Link to post
