I'm using a Playstation to PC joypad convertor and everytime I attempt to install this in Win2000, it always fails at the last moment ( I think drivers not compatible or something like that ). Is there anyone who has managed to get it working or even better, find another driver that accomplished the same function under Win2000? Share this post Link to post
euankirkhope 0 Posted May 20, 2000 its a shame isn't, the driver uses a VXD which win2k won't touch with a barge pole [thats a long stick used to push canal barges, for u un educated US people ] I've looked in vain, but have downloaded the source code, all I need to do now is figure out how to program the parallel port in win2k, and how to make Dinput drivers for win2k. And what the hell are C++ classes and function type stuff?? Can it be that hard? (yes!) I actually got so deprived of a joypad that I tried to re-install win98, but after all the bios updates and stuff, plus not being able to remember the correct order of the many, many patches, it failed miserably. The OS just hanged, BSOD'd, and reset... Funny that Beos, Caldera eDesktop, QNX, and win2k are running flawlessly. ------------------ System Spec: FIC VA-503+ 1.1b bios JE438 CPU Current Limiter Disabled AMD K6-2 550 (300 when I talk to FIC tech support) 128Mb SSi PC100 STB Velocity 4400 16Mb PAL TV-Out Hauppauge Wintv Realtek 8029 LAN Creative ES1371 (PCI64v) 56.6K (AkA 44k) ISA Modem Creative 48mx CDROM Memorex TriMaxx200(DVD/CDR/CDRW, 6,4,24) Maxtor 91301U3 13Gb LS120 and com and lpt i/o conflict error during bios startup.
