macks 0 Posted May 25, 2000 It's odd that I have two 3d-capable graphics cards but still have no D3D in W2K. I use the Intel i740 drivers from MS that came with the operating system, and the most recent voodoo2 drivers from 3dfxgamers.com for W2K. I think these voodoo2 drivers are glide/openGL only (no d3d), but clearly I should still have D3D using the i740. Dxdiag tells me that directX works for the i740, but direct3d is not available. I wonder if this is because it is trying to use the voodoo for this test by default, but has no drivers for it? The error dxdiag gives here is: Direct3D test results: Failure at step 18 (CreateDevice): HRESULT = 0x80004002 (No interface) Thanks so much if you can help! Share this post Link to post
richagem 0 Posted May 26, 2000 The Intel i740 driver does not provide D3D support in Windows 2000. It's up to Intel to release an updated driver that will do this. Share this post Link to post
felix 0 Posted May 26, 2000 Go here: http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/intel740/ for the beta drivers for the i740. They will give you D3D (a little choppy), but OpenGL is STILL not supported. Dammit intel. ------------------ Written on: PII 300 160mb RAM i740 8mb 20gb Seagate 6gb WDCaviar Using 100% Australian Made recyclable electrons Share this post Link to post
