I hope you all had a good weekend. A few weeks ago we took a look at our first Radeon HD 4670 part, declaring it a winner against NVIDIA's reference-based GeForce 9600 GSO in both pricing and performance terms. However, today we give the GeForce 9600 GSO a second bite of the cherry, courtesy of XFX's turbo-charged "XXX" part, featuring some hefty increases to both GPU and memory clocks - Is that going to be enough to surpass AMD's current offering?

"XFX's typical strategy with XXX-based boards is to stick with NVIDIA's reference cooling solution while bumping up clock speeds as high as possible, and that's exactly what we see here. Indeed, the clock speed boosts seen with this board are very impressive indeed, with this particular card shipping with a core clock speed of 680MHz while the GPU's Stream Processors are set at 1700MHz, over a 23.5% clock speed increases in both cases. The 384MB of GDDR3 memory on board hasn't been forgotten either, with an 18.75% boost to give us a final memory clock of 950MHz."
