Quake 2 doesnt work (switches to software) and UT generates Blue Screens of death every time i try opengl. pppplease help. chuck17 0 Posted June 1, 2000 I found the best way for me change driver versions is to go into device manager and uninstall the display adapter. Don't reboot when asked. Then goto explorer and delete the following files: C:\WINNT\system32\nv4_disp.dll C:\WINNT\system32\nvcpl.dll C:\WINNT\system32\nvinstnt.dll C:\WINNT\system32\nvoglnt.dll C:\WINNT\system32\nvqtwk.dll C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\nv4_mini.sys Reboot your machine then go back to device manager and the display adapter will be using the win2000 default drivers. just update to the version you want. This works good for me... let me know how you make out. Share this post Link to post
mredger12 0 Posted June 1, 2000 Hi, I tried all you send, but unfortunatley no success. Still NO openGL. Direct 3d works great just no Open GL, this is such a pain, argh! Thanks for your help anyway Share this post Link to post
Lupus 0 Posted June 1, 2000 Nvidia has released new official Detonators today. 5.22, but theyre called Detonator 2 for some reason. works fine with everything but Quake2. Q3A works, all D3D games that Ive tried so far works, just not the game that always use to run, Quake2. Share this post Link to post
mredger12 0 Posted June 1, 2000 Yes i Think your right, I managed to uninstall the drivers and put back 5.13. Since then its been absolutley fine!! How lame is it that Nvidia are not doing q2 support, that is completley stupid - its the main game i play. I hope they include support in future revisions Share this post Link to post
GHz 0 Posted June 1, 2000 I had the same problem you had. I installed the 5.22 drivers, which caused quake 1 and 2 to stop working. I tried uninstalling the drivers to no avail, I deleted all of the appropriate video driver files in the /system32 dir, switched back and forth between default TNT2 drivers and the old drivers I used 3.78 (I believe), yet I could not get things working correctly. I finally gave up in frustration, and formatted my C partition. Thereafter I reinstalled Win2k PRO and everything works fine now. Thanks big-time Nvidia Now how exactly did you get those 5.22 drivers uninstalled? I thought I tried everything! ------------------ GHz Share this post Link to post
