raider_rulez 0 Posted October 26, 2008 hi all a couple of problems... 1st.. both my desktop and laptop seem to be missing a sound device and/or driver. i need to know how to fix this problem. 2nd.. i tried installing realtek ac97 audio software and it has somehow removed the cd drive on the laptop. ive tried to get it back but with no success. please help!!! danleff 0 Posted October 27, 2008 It's usually best to download drivers from the system's manufacturer's web site, specific for the version of Windows that you are using. Did you do so for the laptop? Does the CD drive show in the device manager? If so, does the CD drive have an exclamation mark next to it? It would be helpful to know what make and model each system is. What version of Windows is on each system? Share this post Link to post
raider_rulez 0 Posted October 28, 2008 i managed to fix the laptop by going to the toshiba website and downloading from there... however i thought this would be a good oppurtunity to reload xp onto it.. what i didnt realise is that i needed a special toshiba xp cd --what the hell is one of those- as for the other computer it is telling me theres nothing wrong its just missing a sound device. any reffurances Share this post Link to post
