[ANNOUNCE] LibUnique 1.0.4 (stable)

Recommended Posts

hi everyone;

LibUnique 1.0.4 is now available at:

http://www.gnome.org/~ebassi/source/unique-1.0.4.tar.gz

MD5 Checksum:

6691a55b3ca0943f5824d7bdc73927da unique-1.0.4.tar.gz

LibUnique is everyone's (least) favorite library for writing single

instance applications. LibUnique makes it easy to write this kind of

applications by providing a base class, taking care of all the IPC

machinery needed to send messages to a running instance, and also

handling the startup notification side.

Unique aims to replace the BaconMessageConnection code that has been

copied by many projects, and the equivalent code using Bonobo or D-Bus.

Notes:

- This is the third stable release of LibUnique.

- The API is finalized and frozen; further releases of the

1.x series will be API and ABI compatible.

- Web site: http://live.gnome.org/LibUnique

Requirements:

- gobject-2.0 >= 2.12

- gtk+-2.0 >= 2.11

- dbus-glib-1 (optional)

List of changes for 1.0.4:

* Plug a leak in UniqueMessageData [Cosimo Cecchi]

* Fix raw getter for UniqueMessageData

* Make libunique behave correctly on OpenBSD [Landry Breuil]

Since I apparently missed the announcement for the 1.0.2 release, here

are the changes for that one as well:

List of changes for 1.0.2:

* Various compilation warnings fixed

* Add raw data getter for UniqueMessageData

* Add filename accessor pair for UniqueMessageData

* Fix linking with --as-needed

* Support libtool 2.2

* Do not export private functions symbols

Special thanks to:

- Cosimo Cecchi

- Landry Breuil

- Alex Larsson

Since this release, LibUnique has been branched for the 1.2 development

cycle; the stable branch is 'unique-1.0', while the development will

happen in the 'master' branch.

ciao,

Emmanuele.
