Thoughtful Tree Software has announced Modena, a countdown timer for the Mac. Modena allows countdowns to be viewed in the standard HUD window, in Full-screen Mode, or in Mini Mode where the timer sits in the toolbar. When the countdown is finished, a notification to the user be displayed using the popular Growl framework.

 

Woodstock, Illinois - Thoughtful Tree Software, creators of the ever-useful apps Docks and TunesBar, has announced Modena, a sleek countdown timer for your Mac. A user can choose to set the countdown time from an absolute starting point or a relative number of minutes, hours, and seconds. The timer in Modena can be viewed either in the normal window mode, which is relatively small and sleek, in full-screen mode, or in the menu bar.

 

When the countdown timer has completed, a notification will appear on the screen using Growl, which is a standard non-intrusive and highly-customizable alert framework for the Mac. A sound can optionally be added to this alert using the Growl preference panel, and Modena allows the option to keep the alert around until it is clicked.

 

Just as in all other Thoughtful Tree Software applications, Modena provides an extra set of features to provide users with the most quality experience: There is a built-in support menu for sending feedback, bug reports, or feature requests directly from inside the application. Also included is its ability to automatically check for its own updates.

* Small, sleek window that fits perfectly into Leopard and stays out of the way

* Full-screen Mode and Mini Mode for alternate countdown experiences

* Can set time from absolute starting point, such as 5:27 PM, or relatively, such as 1 hour, 4 minutes, and 32 seconds.

* A notification is displayed when the timer is up, using the powerful Growl utility for the Mac

* Optionally provide a sound for the notification, and decide whether it should stick around until clicked
