taquinas83 0 Posted June 19, 2000 Whenever I play dvds on my computer I only get sound out of my left speaker. I have the w2k beta drivers for the Hollywood+ installed. Does anyone else have this problem? Share this post Link to post

taquinas83 0 Posted June 20, 2000 Thank you for your suggestion but I don't have any cords plugged into my hollywood+ except for the cable from my graphics card and the one that goes to my monitor. Everything else is internal. Share this post Link to post
JediBaron 0 Posted June 20, 2000 First and most obvious, I'd check your balance in the audio controls Second, you have a differenet pin config on one of your internal audio cables. That's the cable the runs from the cd drive to the decoder and then to the sound card. Basically theres 2 diferent types of connectors big 4 pin (usually black) and small 4 pin (usually white) connectors. The prob is usually in the small white connectors as some manufacturers wire them differently. The dominant type (and the one that's plugged into my card) goes red-black-white-black (there can be only one of those blacks as they're the grounds). But sometimes they make the cables red-black-black-white. You can change the pin config by using a needle to lift up the little plastic clip and pull out the prong. Hope that helps BTW - The big 4 pins (usually only on the drives connector, but some sound cards use it too) are always red-black-black-white (the colors on your cables may not be normal so you can use that to tell which are red (right) & white (left) [This message has been edited by JediBaron (edited 20 June 2000).] Share this post Link to post
SpongeMaster 0 Posted June 21, 2000 I had the same problem with my old DXR2 card a while back. The only way I was able to fix it, was by running an external cable from the line out on the dvd card to the line in on the sound card. I gave the card to someone else, and they had no problem with it, go figure. Share this post Link to post
ArKineX 0 Posted June 21, 2000 I had this problem as well with my Hollywood+ card. You have to go into the options of the Hollywood DVD player, then in the Settings Tab. Under sound choose: 6-Channel Wave This did it for me. Share this post Link to post
taquinas83 0 Posted June 21, 2000 Thank you for all of your suggestions. I'll try them all. Arkinex you said to change the audio output to 6 channel wave, but the only choices I have are: Surround, AC-3, and PCM. Thanks. Share this post Link to post
