Portland, Oregon - Njection LLC, the maker of Njection Mobile (NMobile), their worldwide speed trap notification system for iPhone 3G, is dropping the price of their application in the Apple App Store to 99 cents until the release of the 1.1 version update. 1.1 is a major update unleashing the full power of the iPhone and location based mapping services. Version 1.1 will have new requested features along with Njection Mobile exclusive features.

Designed specifically to take advantage of the 3G's unique abilities and interface, NMobile was built from the ground up for drivers so they can be notified to the location of speed traps, red light cameras, and speed detection devices. Version 1.1 will have new, requested features along with Njection Mobile exclusive features. Individuals who buy NMobile now will get the 1.1 update free of charge.

"Unlike our competitor," Says Shannon Atkinson, Founder of Njection LLC "we do not sacrifice our users personal information such as their phone number, email address, or location for the sake of using our application. You are not forced to "register" before taking it out on the road and using it." Njection's Privacy Policy sets strict limits to the use of your personal information unlike the competitor.

Njection Mobile is the first to use a native Microsoft Virtual Earth Web Services (VEWS) implementation, leveraging the mobile tile set to speed up map displays, and provides one of the best mapping experiences on the iPhone. Some of the features include the use of speech notification of speed traps based on current moving direction, speed of the driver, and distance to closest point using Active Intelligence Selection System (AISS). NMobile use of VEWS connects to Microsoft using a custom SOAP API and mobile map tiles allowing for faster downloads and lowers bandwidth utilization. Locations around the world can be searched and full iPhone gesture map controls are supported including pinch to shrink, spread to zoom, and flick to momentum-scroll.

Along with live updates of locations of Speed Traps, users can visit the website and see a history of each speed trap. Each Speed Trap has its own Heat Map showing when, in a 24 hour 7 day a week grid, when those areas are monitored the most. The more people that contribute to an individual location, a color coded heat map is formed showing you the highest probability of that area being monitored. This exclusive 24/7 feature is coupled with the live notification giving you a higher level of awareness.

"In the name of safety, red light cameras are being installed everywhere," says Mr. Atkinson, "But no one knows who these drivers are to get them off the road. In addition, most of the revenue generated from these programs ends up in the general fund of the city, not the roadway safety programs." In most instances, the same company that does the initial investigation on the placement of red light cameras is the same one who installs and monitors them. We want to give drivers the upper hand by allowing them to communicate with each other and sharing locations privately and confidentially.
