Warl0ck 0 Posted July 10, 2000 OpenGL games like Quake3 run with incredible performance and I play them with 1280 x 1024 32 bit and all details but Direct3D games are as slow like you would exspect it from a voodoo1 or somthing. UEFA 2000 and Need 4 Speed 5 for instance don't even reach the 25 fps in 640x480 16 bit ! I have a Soyo motherboard with a VIA chipset (5MVP3). When I switch on support for AGP 2x the above mentioned games show very strange grafic effects that makes them unplayable, other games look normal but are extremly slow too. In win2k dxdiag.exe tells me that theres no AGP support and since today after trying out hundreds of different GeForce drivers it even tells me that there's no 3D accelleration available - seems like the only way to get it back is to reinstall win2k but as long I don't have any good hint to get it much faster D3D isn't good for anything anyway... can you help ? Ravian 0 Posted July 10, 2000 Do you have the latest Via 4 in 1 drivers installed? The AGP and USB Drivers that came with Windows 98 didn't work and I'd be suprised if the ones that came with Windows 2000 are much better. Better get them straight from Via at www.via.com.tw. Next to that you need to install the latest Reference drivers from nVidia or the released drivers from you Manufacturer. Marc Share this post Link to post
