felix 0 Posted July 18, 2000 I have a problem with multi-monitors under Win2k. No S3 cards work. The SIS card I have is not compatible. Are there any cheap video cards that ACTUALLY work in multi-mode. I just want a damn video card that won't cost me my wallet and sanity. Really pissed off at this point. ------------------ Written on Win2000 using: PII 300 Aopen AX6B 160mb RAM i740 8mb SBLive! Noodlez 0 Posted July 18, 2000 If you good card is an AGP card and the cheap one a PCI, have you tryed setting the PCI as the main card in the bios then in w2k setting the AGP as the main one, that is how I got my cheap as voodoo rush card to work in muti mode Share this post Link to post
SHS 0 Posted July 18, 2000 3dfx, 3Dlabs, ATI, nVidia, Trident all support VGA mode, need say S3 & SiS are joke if not the main boot card. But here a tip you can make that S3 & SiS work but it you have change Video boot oder to PCI in bios. Your "Lifeview FlyVideo '98 FM" don't count on it working. Share this post Link to post
ByronT 0 Posted July 18, 2000 I had the worse problems when running a Stealth III S540 (Savage4) 32MB PCI card with a Diamond V770 Ultra (TNT2) 32MB AGP adapter. S3/Diamond swore that it was a "tried" and "tested" setup. What a bunch of bull. I eventually found an old Diamond Fire GL 1000 Pro 8MB (Permedia2) and am now using it without any problems.
