news 28 Posted February 6, 2009 Twitter Integration added to Wide Email - Landscape Email for iPhone - Published on 02/06/09 IMMEDIATE RELEASE LizzardWerks today announced Wide Email 3.0, an update to their popular landscape email program for the iPhone. Writing Twitter messages just got easier. With this update, users can now use the BlackBerry style "AutoType" typing shortcuts they've created in Wide Email to write tweets more quickly while on the go. Tapping short, customizable abbreviations can automatically insert commonly used words or phrases. The large keys of the landscape keyboard also make tweeting faster. Washington, DC - Tweeting just got faster and easier with version 3.0 of Wide Email, an update announced today by LizzardWerks to the popular landscape email program for the iPhone. Wide Email lets users hold their iPhone sideways to type emails on the wider, landscape-mode keyboard, and makes typing much quicker using custom typing shortcuts - similar to AutoType on the BlackBerry, AutoText in Microsoft Word, and typing macros in various desktop programs. And now in version 3.0, users can also use Wide Email to post messages to their Twitter account. If users have the free Twitter client Twitterrific installed on their iPhone or iPod touch, they can compose tweets in Wide Email and post them through Twitterrific, which lacks the convenience of the landscape keyboard and typing shortcuts. With typing shortcuts - or typing macros - users can enter words, phrases, or even entire paragraphs that they use frequently just by typing a few letters. Customize these shortcuts by adding and editing your own. Former BlackBerry and Windows Mobile users who are "switchers" and who loved typing macros on their old phones will be glad to see typing shortcuts come to the iPhone. Twitter integration adds to Wide Email's many other features. Users can instantly compose entire emails by using previously sent drafts, which Wide Email saves automatically, as templates or "stationary" for starting new emails. Wide Email lets users save an unlimited number of drafts to finish later or to use as "notes to self", and has full international character support and auto-saving of drafts and sent drafts.
