Detonator drivers and hibernation

Recommended Posts

Does all detonator drivers prevent hibernaiton?

So far I have tried ver. 5.22 and 5.32. I have to add that I use my Asus Geforce DDR as a secondary video card/game card since it delivers a ****y picture quality at 1600x1200. Mb is Abit bh6 1.0 latest bios. Other graphic card is matrox millennium 4mb!

I've tried 5.22, 5.30, and 5.32, and all work fine with hibernation. I think you've singled out the wrong driver.

What is your computer's configuration?

Computer configuration:

Win2k fresh installation, the only driver that needs to be installed, acording to the Device Manager, is the nvidia driver. I could, and probably will, update sound driver to LW 3.0 and latest Adaptec driver.

Would it matter if I used Asus' own driver?

Hmm . . . I know very little about the drivers you're using, since I've got a KX133/IDE system. frown LiveWare 3 might help; at the least it probably won't hurt (assuming you don't get speaker crackling from ACPI IRQ sharing), and I'm sure newest SCSI drivers wouldn't hurt either.

The culprit may be the Matrox card, since it's old and is likely not ACPI compliant. (I don't think ACPI even existed as a standard when it was created . . .)

What CD burning software are you using? I know that Adaptec Easy CD Creator/DirectCD has caused problems with hibernating unless it's patched to version 4.02c.

In my system is the hole in the trousers that causes hypothermia...

Eh? Oh, sorry, the Adaptec CD wizard is the culpret that prevents hibernation. smile
