Berlin based nova media today unveiled a hardware development kit for 3G devices based on a 3G embedded wireless module. The GTM382 development kit consists of an embedded 3G module as well as a mainboard with USB support and the necessary Mac OS X drivers to address the advanced 3G, GPS and Voice functions of the embedded module.

 

Berlin, Germany - Wireless routers and other 3G devices can finally be developed on Mac OS X systems, thanks to the help of nova media, a Berlin based mobile solution provider. The company unveiled a development kit based on a 3G embedded wireless module today, which offers Mac drivers for Internet, Voice and GPS functions. It already includes connections for antennas, SIM cards and headphones besides a card holder for the 3G module called GTM382.

 

The GTM382 module offers fast HSPA speeds with up to 7.2 Mbit/s download and 2 Mbit/s upload speeds and supports reliable EDGE and GPRS connections. It has been tested worldwide on mobile networks and infrastructures and achived all regulatory approvals.

The GTM382 development kit is already supplied with an external antenna, a headphone, USB cable, RF cable and the power supply. The mainboard offers a MiniPCI Express card holder for the module and a SIM card holder. Drivers for Mac OS X 10.4.11 and higher as well as for Linux and Windows in addition to in-depth technical documents complete the package.
