SuperG 0 Posted August 2, 2000 The Cache on the Celemine is 128k, the other 128 is obviously disabled, or it would be way close to a p3... is there any way to enable that? I know it's on the chip just disabled. There HAS to be a way.. Share this post Link to post
nonzero 0 Posted August 3, 2000 It's diabled in hardware. Unless you have an electron microscope and a sub-micronic etching system, there is no hope. CeleronII chips are just PentiumIII chips that fail the L2 cache test at bin sorting time. Therefore, Intel disables half of the cache (the half with the error in it) and sells the chip for 1/3 the cost. The cache latency is also higher on a C2 than a P3 (which, as a C2 850 owner, pisses me off). Share this post Link to post
SuperG 0 Posted August 5, 2000 I have an option in my bios that can modify the latency somewhat... abit bx133. Im happy to have my cel2 at 900 stable for 4 days now ! -Kris Share this post Link to post
