bem001 0 Posted August 9, 2000 Using roadrunner cable modem through PCI network card...every time I reboot Win 2000 loses the TCP/IP settings and I can't connect. I then have to go into network settings and uninstall TCP/IP protocol and reboot. I then have to reinstall TCP/IP and all's well. But it loses it again the next time I reboot. I have tried to reinstall TCP/IP from the Win 2000 CD, but can't seem to find the file or folder it looks for. Any suggestions? Or am I going to have to reinstall Win 2000? Thanks for any help... ComputerMan 0 Posted August 9, 2000 If you have a cable modem, you must install the DHCP files with the add/remove programs, in control panel, click on the button "add remove windows components", and select "Management and monitoring tools", click on "details", check the "Simple Network Management Protocol". Hope this helps. Share this post Link to post
