swoosher 0 Posted August 9, 2000 Hey im looking to buy a new monitor, this old Acer 15" is getting smaller with each passing day, and after 5 years of serving the screen seems to have darker/lighter areas. Im looking at couple 19" inch ones, KDS VS-190 ..its the cheapest one I could find, it sells for $383 (canadian money and also at the Acer 99sl wich costs $100 more then the KDS one. I want to know if its worth spending $100 more and getting the Acer one or saving it and getting the KDS one. Here are the links http://www.acerperipherals.com/display/display_99sl.html http://www.kdsusa.com/ALL/Visual%20Sensations/VS190.htm Share this post Link to post
clutch 1 Posted August 9, 2000 I can't tell from the link if the KDS is an "AG" (Aperture Grill) model. If it is, I would get the KDS. I was choosing between a KDS model and my Radius L1. They were both at Best Buy, and were around $440 (last October) while the Sony 19" was $580. Sony provides the CRTs to Radius and KDS (along with other vendors, like the Dell Trinitron) while the vendor comes up with their own supporting electronics. I picked up the Radius because I liked the control layout on the monitor better than the one on the KDS. ------------------ Regards, clutch Share this post Link to post
rbarbier 0 Posted August 9, 2000 http://192.216.185.10/mwave/doc/A02118.html This is a great monitor. Made by Viewsonic. I am using the V95 (Last years model) and it is great. I would highly recommend this monitor. $309 for a 19". Share this post Link to post
