news 28 Posted March 9, 2009 Hi everyone, I hope you all had a good weekend. After taking a look at Auzentech's latest X-Fi Forte a couple of weeks ago, today we examine the newest member of ASUS' Xonar family of discrete sound cards, the Essence STX. With a design aimed squarely at headphone users, it should be obvious how this board stands out from the crowd, but in our review we take a look at just what the Essence STX offers up and how it performs. ASUS Xonar Essence STX PCI Express sound card review "From left to right, we find that the Essence STX carries analogue outputs for left and right speakers via RCA outputs (with an RCA to 3.5mm jack adapter provided with the board) - If you're using analogue speakers, that means you'll only be able to produce two-channel audio from the Essence STX. Moving on, we then find the card's headphone output and line-in jacks, both of which use 6.3mm jacks (with one gold-plated 6.3mm-3.5mm adapter provided as part of the STX's bundle), and an SPDIF output with support for both coaxial and TOSlink connectivity, and allowing for multi-channel audio via Dolby Digital encoding." http://www.elitebastards.com/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=696&Itemid=27 As always, a news post on your site would be hugely appreciated, and we guarantee to reciprocate by posting any news items received from yourselves.
