CeRbErO 0 Posted August 6, 2000 Hi, I wanna buy a new graphics card for my old ****ty comp... Can't afford to buy a completely new computer, so i'm wondering, which card would be best for my system: p2/233 mhz 64 mb ram agp 2x ? Thanks in advance... (I would rather want a card with TV-out on it) [One minute later...] Oh yeah. I forgot. I'm using Win2k Pro SP1 [This message has been edited by CeRbErO (edited 06 August 2000).] Share this post Link to post
REOE 0 Posted August 7, 2000 First, stop runing win2k with only 64 megs of ram. Check your task manager and see how much mem you are using when your system is dormant. what video card do you have now? Share this post Link to post
Battleship 0 Posted August 7, 2000 Maybe you should just save up for a while til you can upgrade if yo udont have the money now. You really should have a quicker processor than 233Mhz. Win2k really needs 128Megs RAM for accepatable performance. If you have to get a new card now for that PC. I wouldnt waste my money on a GeForce, v5 5500 or Radeon. Your CPU just cant handle it. You might just want to get a TNT2 or a V3. V3 3000 has TV-out and is fairly cheap rightnow. But as I said b4, I would save up and upgrade the motherboard/cpu and memory sometime soon. ------------------ Share this post Link to post
CeRbErO 0 Posted August 11, 2000 I know i should have more RAM/better CPU, but I can't afford that, and won't be able to for a long time , but i think Win2k runs fairly well, actually. Better than Win9x anyways. Share this post Link to post
