INFERNO2000 0 Posted August 10, 2000 Ok...Asus K7V Athlon 750, Win2k, Nvidia card. I'm getting a crapload of errors, namely ntoskrnl.exe, and a few sysaudio.sys. It's not my memory, as I've reformatted several times in this past week, with new RAM. I have installed SP1(norton finds a virus in one of the files on a fresh install??) and all of the mobo specific progs and drivers. I'm running a BIOS ver. 1007. Any ideas on wtf is going on, and how to fix it? ------------------ OBSIDIAN (Win2k System) ---Custom Built--- AMD Athlon 750(model 2) retail (Slot A) Asus K7V Mobo BIOS revision 1007 PNY 288(295 listed)MB PC100 SDRAM (2x128 & 1x32) A-Top 901 Case & 300W Athlon Approved Power Supply 3 Internal 80mm fans(along with Power Supply, CPU, and GeForce fans) CL SB Live! Kyosho46vr 0 Posted August 10, 2000 I had similar problems, I narrowed my problems down to loading VIA IDE Busmastering drivers, other than what came with Win2000. I would lose my O.S. in 4-5 days with similar error messages. Maybe you have a similar issue. My O.S. hac been up and running for 3 months now, and I am running good. Hope that might help. Down8 0 Posted August 16, 2000 I was having a similar problem win I first installed Win2K. I resolved it by formatting, reinstalling and not installing the extra mother board drivers [except for the sound drivers]. I've had it up for 2 months now, no probs [related to that anyway ]. -bZj ------------------ - brian@infinitejones.com Code: ================== ===================Home built system: Also, just for fun:Soyo SY-7VCA AST Bravo LC 4/66d[VIA T82C694X] Intel 486/66MHz CPU[onboard sound] 40MB RAM [2x16, 2x4]PIII 500E [flip chip] 500 MB Conner HddPNY 128MB PC100 RAM 3 1/2, 5 1/4, 2x CDStealth III S540 3com Etherlink II3com Etherlink III Adaptec AHA-1545 SCSIQuantum Fireball 10.3GB Hdd [to host some files on:]HP A4331D 20" Monitor 1.3GB internal SeagateWin2K Pro [v5.00.2195, SP-1] 2 2GB external Seagates[format => clean install] Windows 95 [v4.00.1111]Norton AntiVirus 2000 pcAnywhere 9.2Covad 768kbps sDSL [shared] [so I can leave it in the closet] Share this post Link to post
