WinTV just nixed my fragile stability

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone has any hints as to how to tweak Hauppauge!'s WinTV...whenever I change channels, it crashes my computer cold...requiring the master power switch frown

I'm running Detonator 5.32 on a GeForce DDR..if the video card has anything to do with it.

all the info is in my signature

So are all of those devices using IRQ 9?

I have heard that thw Athlon & WinTV devices have incompatibilites. This is only what I have heard though....

Well since your using ACPI and an Athlon I would recommend getting the latest bios. If that doesn't work....switch to Standard and see how that goes.

That has nothing to do with it DosFreak

Need to say those "Hauppauge WinTV 878/9 WDM"

have magor bug under DX7 "DirectShow" You best beat is wait for DX8 Even I get this this problem win useing DX7 not with DX8 the latest beta. But I will have agree with DosFreak on ACPI it can be pain a@@.

I'd actually go for DX8NTENG.EXE as win2k already has DX7 smile For those of you who are win98 people, DX80ENG.exe. I don't really to be honest recommend either. 6.71 and 10.2 MB are the filesizes for each, respectfully.

It's crap anyway, don't know what the fuss is all about, personally. It didn't speed up linux at all... wink Am I on the right forum?

Hey....another problem

I have the WDM drivers installed, and the program installed, but it keeps saying that things can't be initialized, and the drivers are being used....but I've just started my computer!

WTF is wrong with this?

And does anyone know if this will run on an ATI Xpert XL(98) PCI?
