While were on this subject:

 

I've just bought this pile of crap for £35 (bfr vat).

My first ever proper MS purchase (win2k corporate review, then gratious donation, win95, upgraded like 20 times always been off the network) Although I do have an offical NT4 CD, but with no license (that ba-star.d).

 

Everytime second time I restart, a creative SBlive file called devcon32.dll, causes an illegal exception error in explorer.exe during startup, and consequently, winme fails to bootup to the shell - now we know why the restore function has appeared.

 

System Restore would be good if:

 

you could install all drivers and software, then make a backup, however you always end up restoring to the basic MS drivers and "unknown devices", before finishing.

 

It actually worked, but then it said the restore failed and no changes have been made.

 

MS finaly got the welcome presentation right, almost.
