INFERNO2000 0 Posted September 5, 2000 Ok... I have a fairly standard Power Supply. I have the traditional ATX Motherboard plug, 2 2x4pin IDE connectors 2 4pin IDE and 4pinfloppy connectors and another connector that I'm not using.. It looks to be a little larger than the standard AT power supply plug...just wondering what this plug is for, if anyone knows Share this post Link to post
Shrink 0 Posted September 6, 2000 There are some custom mobo's (such as those used by Dell) that employ a nonstandard connection to the power supply. It could be that your power supply is meant to support those types of mobos in addition to those using traditional atx connectors. Ronin 0 Posted September 6, 2000 Don't cut the connector off! That connector is used by a lot of highend motherboards. It allows you to add additional power to the MB. Just go out and purchase Y-Connectors to add additional power for hardware. You can get rid of it, but you may need it down the road, you never know. ... Share this post Link to post
