INFERNO2000 0 Posted September 14, 2000 Hey...I was just on Pricewatch looking at 256MB PC 133 RAM...and it kept on saying "Athlon compatible only", or "Not compatible with Intel chipsets" What is going on? My Asus CUSL2 motherboard says it will support PC 133....at a maximum of 256MB per slot...Why does this RAM say it won't work? Granted I saw this in the generic section..but still...the question stands. ------------------ Code: OBSIDIAN2 (Win2k System) INFERNO (Win9x)---Custom Built--- ---Compaq Presario 5600i---PIII Coppermine(FCPGA 370) 800eb w/133FSB (with ThermalTake Golden Orb heatsink) PIII 500(498 listed) (Pre CuMine)Asus CUSL2 mobo(no onboard sound) BIOS rev 1002.007 Beta Compaq 440BX based motherboard384(393 listed)MB PC100 SDRAM (2x128 PNY& 1x128 Mistsubishi(Compaq)) Compaq 32(32 listed)MB PNY PC100 RAM A-Top 901 Case & 300W Athlon Approved Power Supply30GB MAXTOR Diamand Max UDMA/66 7200 RPM hdd and IBM15-7 15GB UDMA/100 7200RPM hdd IBM DJNA 371350 UDMA/33 7200RPM Hdd3 Internal 80mm fans, & 1 52mm exhaust fan (along with Power Supply, CPU, and GeForce fans)CL SB Live! INFERNO2000 0 Posted September 14, 2000 oh. Damn. And that was about 2/3 the price of the rest of it. Share this post Link to post
etexter 0 Posted September 15, 2000 Cheap memory is usually just that. I'd recommend going for the "better" quality stuff like the Mushkin. It runs a little faster in memory tests and it's tons more stable. Share this post Link to post
