get a competent monitor, and play games at less than 1280x1024.

and what limit would that be? v-sync? i am using det3's and have no 60fps limiter since turning v-sync off!

 

so please tell me what the hell u are on about?

kev is right. VSync is the fps limiter. which is of course somewhat obvious when you think about it. if vsync is on, your syncronising redraw with refresh, ie, you cant go above your monitors refresh rate. Disable vsync and it will go higher (if capable). Vsync on nvidia cards in 99% of games wont cause a problem at all. If you see 'tearing' in your graphics, then try re-enabling vsync. you shouldnt notice this tho.
