FrogMaster 0 Posted September 27, 2000 SLI is working fine on my box. SHS is right. You have to clean install W2K without the Voodoos installed. Get the special NT5 unsupported drivers (in fact hacked NT4 ones) from reactorcritical or 3dchipset or from somewhere else, and have them handy in a directory on some of your HDs. DO NOT USE the beta W2K drivers from 3dfx!!! They do not support pass-through. When W2K is up and running, well, leave it and switch off. Install your Voodoos, pass-through cable, etc. Start your box. When asked for, point to the place where you put your V2 drivers. Reboot when asked. Next start, W2K will detect again the 2nd Voodo and install the driver for it. Reboot, you're done. I have done that on two different boxes based on different chipsets (BX and VIA) and never had any prob. Of course, you will only have glide and ogl if you really want it. Glide is best for UT. Ogl will be ok for Q3A. 8 megs will limit the performance obviously (resolution and low texture mem). Good luck. PS : the worst thing to do is to upgrade from Win98 which will leave tons of garbage behind. If you want to keep it, reinstall it on a separate partition. ------------------ Asus CUV4X- 1006 bios - Celery2 Cumine 566 @ 875 MHz - 192 MB Pc100 SdRam - Seagate 6 GB - Seagate 4 GB - IBM 20 GB Ultra 66 - Iomega // Zip100 - Toshiba DVD SD-M1212 - HP Deskjet 815C - Philips Vesta Pro Webcam - NIC HP 10/100 - NIC Realtek 10/100 - Soho switch - Elsa Erazor X2 GeForce 256 DDR - 2xSTB BlackMagic Voodoo2s in SLI - Sound Blaster AWE 32- Alcatel 1000 ADSL - Dual boot WIN2K Pro and Win 98 Share this post Link to post
SHS 0 Posted September 27, 2000 FrogMaster (hacked NT4 ones) are from me, yes there are few other site have same one I have here. How ever the one from reactorcritical, 3dchipset only have the the one from 3dfx. The one's from 3dfx work just good to. Share this post Link to post
celeron550 0 Posted September 27, 2000 frogmaster: thank you!!!!! ..thats just what i needed...my problem was i left my voodoos in when i installed win2k(fresh install on its ownpartition)...once again..thanks to all especially frogmaster..this board rules Share this post Link to post
FrogMaster 0 Posted September 27, 2000 SHS, I guess they all have stolen your drivers! I give credit to you here! They worked for me. Celeron, I'm glad you are up and running now. I really hate 3dfx. Not having licensed or released to the public the glide API is their number one strategic mistake. If I were a shareholder I would have fired all the management. This board rocks.
