Down8 0 Posted October 4, 2000 OK, it's late, and I should be in bed, but I'm playing with my system. I got my PIII 500E to 667MHz with a FSB of 133. Nice for me. I was only looking for 650, but with the locked clock-multiplier, I just went for the 133, instead of my planned 5.5 x 118. The stranger things are as follows: 1) I got the OEM PIII, so there was no HSF, so I picked up a little $10 one, planning on getting a better one later. With the system overclocked, and with SETI@home running, my system doesn't get above 107F, at 5800RPMs. Even with a GlobalWin, or an Alpha on there, I would only get down to 95-100F. I do have my case open on one side, but still. 2) Then there is the Vcore setting of 1.73v, which is only strange because the FC-PGAs are supposed to run at 1.6v. I didn't set this, it's default Vcore. Anyone know why this is? Just me rambling... I'm going to bed now... -bZj ------------------ Code: =====ThugBox===== =====GimpBox=====Home built system: Just for fun:Soyo SY-7VCA Mainboard AST Bravo LC 4/66d[VIA ApolloPro 133A T82C694X] Intel 486/66MHz CPU[onboard sound] 40MB RAM [2x16, 2x4]PIII 500E @ 667MHz 515MB Conner Hdd[100FSB @ 133 flip chip] 3 1/2, 5 1/4PNY 128MB PC100 RAM ESS AudiodriveOEM 128MB PC133 RAM 3com Etherlink II [Ext.Transcvr] 3C503?Stealth III S540 Video Adaptec 2940U SCSI [coming soon] LinkSys NC100v2 Ethernet [No OS installed, yet]Quantum Fireball 10.3GB Hdd HP A4331D 20" Monitor @ 1280 Logitec MouseMan [Compaq] Win2K Server [v5.00.2195, SP-1] > [url=http://down8.dhs.org]http://down8.dhs.org[/url] [format => clean install] [email]brian@infinitejones.com[/email] Norton AntiVirus 2000 Covad 768kbps sDSL w/3com switch & Flowpoint Router [sharedx6] [This message has been edited by Down8 (edited 04 October 2000).] Share this post Link to post
