pr-man 1 Posted November 19, 2000 Ok I had this problem with win2k before dx8 final came out and now that I have installed that the problem still remains. When I run 3dmark2000 and goto the listing for the g450 it says that I have 48908k total video memory and 47372k total texture memory. No matter what apeture size I set in the bios (its at 128 megs now) the texture memory never gets bigger and thus I can never run the 64 meg texture test in win2k (in win9x it runs fine because 3dmark2000 correctly tells me I have like 90-100 megs of texture memory) Any ideas on this im stumped completely. ------------------ Celeron II 566@875 on a Abit BH6 Rev 1.01, 128 Pc100, Matrox G450 32 DH, SBlive Value, Supra Express 56i ISA, Win98FE Share this post Link to post

euankirkhope 0 Posted November 19, 2000 using System Memory for textures doesn't really work in win2k. Get a 64Mb card like me! ------------------ System Spec: Athlon 800 Gigabyte GA-7IXE F4 128Mb SSi PC100 Radeon 64Mb DDR (oem and proud of it) Hauppauge Wintv Model 406 Realtek 8029 LAN (cnx to ISDN server) Creative ES1371 PCI64v Creative SBlive Value Creative 48mx CDROM Memorex TriMaxx200(DVD/CDR/CDRW/CD, 4,6,4,24) Segate SS330630A 30Gb 7200 ATA4 LS120 Share this post Link to post
~Aragorn~ 0 Posted November 20, 2000 think about it folks win2k will only give the gfx card FREE memory for use as AGP textures - so even if the bios is willing to allocate 128meg out of 128meg to the graphics card windows gets first tabs on it and there is probably only 20 odd meg free - check it using task manager Aragorn Share this post Link to post
