best OS for 1Ghz processors and up

Recommended Posts

In my opinion the best place to put Windows ME is in the garbage can. I have ran W2k on a 233 up to a 1gig and it works great, just make sure you have enough memory.

W2k will always be better!!

I have to agree with them. I tried ME when it first came out and I had nothing but crashes on a clean install. As soon as I went back to 2K no more crashes. ME is a POS and a waste of money.

well i'm running it, hasn't crashed since April (it was still in beta)...been upgrading from it since...not a good move, but it seemed to not take any stability out..nonetheless, go forward to NT, it's going to be the future anyways, so you may as well get a head start. I'm going there soon, don't worry about that. there is a lot in Millennium as far as performance that I dislike....i'm forced to stay in Millennium because my Bass and Treble settings don't show up in NT, which I'll fix by getting an SB Live, blah blah, i'm talking on and on here...

It must be earth shattering not to be able to adjust your bass. Damn, that would SURELY make me go to a pos operating system.
