Easy CD Creator and Yamaha 8824S

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone

Well we've bought this wonderful yamaha CD-RW writer ... ans IT SUCKS !!!

We called Yamaha support and they swapped it against a new one (how nice) (one that works) .. well at least the new model was SUPPOSED to work.

So two solutions: either Yamaha sells bad hardware (be polite and watch your mouth), or our configuration under Easy CD Creator isn't that good.

The software cant even recognize 700 MB discs, and won't even detect the presence of 640 MB discs under Nero 5.xx.

So what's the deal?

Shall I send it back AGAIN and wait for one week AGAIN?????????

If anyone has got a solution, i'll be glad to hear it!

Cheers everyone

Os used: win2000

CPU: PIII866 i guess

Hi Louissan,

I got the 8424sz model (int. scsi)

I have used EZ CD Creator and Nero 5.x.x, and have had no problems at all.

Have you tried the update Nero Winaspi32.dll file off http://ahead.de (neros Homepage)

What error msg are you getting?

It does'nt even recognize CDs ...

I drag-drop the files under Easy CD, and click 'record' ...

'Please Insert a Disc with Sufficient space'.

Hey man, this is ONLY 500 MB of data.

'Please Insert a Disc with Sufficient space'.

All right, i'll try with a 700 MB disc.

'Please Insert a Disc with Sufficient space'.

ARRGGGGGHH

That's about it. It just cant see ANY inserted CD ... i wonder if the soft should be upgraded - we got the lastest version, though (smth like 4.02).

I'm beginning to wonder whether this CD writer even supports 700 MB writing. .. or even writing at all!!!

Cheers

The cd's you are using...

Are they CDR's or CD/RW's?

The msg you are getting is likely to happen if >

a) The cdr has been used b4.

B) The cdr is faulty, not the Yamaha.

c) The CD/RW has not been formatted.

You probably know all this already, but I am just advising you from my experiences.

If I was in your position, I would buy a 'branded' blank cdr and try again.

Also, upgrade the firmware of your Yamaha (this won't solve the problem, but its nice to keep up with latest updates).

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Yak
