Macca 0 Posted December 26, 2000 Gday, I have installed Windows 2000 on my celeron 700 system with a BE6-2 (with the UDMA66 controller on board) I installed Win2k whilst my hard drives where connected to the normal IDE controllers (DMA 33) but since then i have bought a UDMA66 cable (i didnt have one before) and have tried connecting my hard drives to it, it detects them allright with the motherboard but when Win2k starts booting it doesnt like it. anyone know how to fix this or workaround it? Down8 0 Posted December 26, 2000 Well, I would see this as comparable to a motherboard switch, and the best choice would be a re-install of Win2K. One thing I've seen work though is to put them back on the 33 controller, go into device manager and uninstall all you motherboard and controller drivers, then swith them ot the 66 controller and start Win2K up. It should detect the new controller. Wish you luck, -bZj Share this post Link to post
