Mav_erick 0 Posted December 6, 2000 I'm really dissatisfied with my system now...I got a PIII 800Mhz, 256MB ram, SBLive card, 45GB HDD, Asus v6600 deluxe running with the detonators 7.17 and running DX8 under win2k. Now my problem is, if I want to play SOF, its running fine, as long as I use the Poweruser account, however, if I want to play something with my Sidewinder FF joystick, it says, I got no joystick connected...its only there in the Admin account.. anyone got an idea? clutch 1 Posted December 6, 2000 You *may* have to reinstall it under the other accounts. And then, due to the NT underpinnings, you may not be allowed to do so unless you grant admin privies for the user account to do so. ------------------ Regards, clutch Share this post Link to post
yakkob 0 Posted December 6, 2000 My Sidewinder FF Pro 2 won't give me any FF in W2k or whistler. Works in Win98se tho. Share this post Link to post
Mav_erick 0 Posted December 7, 2000 So far so good, but my account had admin privileges, when I installed the joystick and when I found out about the SOF-problem, I changed this account to Poweruser and my joystick was gone. As you can guess, when I tried to install it there again, I was unable to do so because of lack of privileges! Share this post Link to post
Mav_erick 0 Posted December 18, 2000 hmmm, still no luck with my problem...is there nobody who knows a good solution? hello? Share this post Link to post
Bermein 0 Posted December 27, 2000 To my knowledge, the sidewinder software under Win2k isn't needed and the support for the joystick is built in, though you can't test the forces in the control panel. If you hook it up to your usb port and it enumerates, it should be good to go as long as the game supports forces. Share this post Link to post
Mav_erick 0 Posted December 28, 2000 Thank you Bermein, but thats not my problem. I didn't use any software for the sidewinder. After I installed dx8, I decided to plug my joystick again and try and it was working, but only in the account with admin-rights. As soon as I use an account thats only Poweruser, I can't access it anymore, let alone install it there again... Share this post Link to post
