clutch 1 Posted September 18, 2002 The ftp sites have TONS of files in them in the 2.0.2 release directory, so what do I need? I don't really need all of it do I? Share this post Link to post
Palos 0 Posted September 18, 2002 Hmm, dunno how the install of Gnome 2.0.2 goes, I installed only KDE 3.0.3 on my box and it was quite an experience Share this post Link to post
punkisdead 0 Posted September 23, 2002 Which distro are you trying to install Gnome 2 from??? Share this post Link to post
punkisdead 0 Posted September 24, 2002 I never could get any major installation like kde or gnome to work with redhat (damn dependencies) which is why I use debian (apt is a wonderful thing). One thing you might want to look into is the apt-rpm frontend that I believe VA Linux has developed. I believe you can get the .rpm for this on freshrpms.net, if not just search for it on rpmfind.net. It is an awesome tool which will resolve your dependencies for you if possible. Also make sure to pick up the gui front end for this called Synaptic. When in doubt check out the FAQ at gnome's site too. Share this post Link to post
