My system is very stable but sometimes while exiting gameslike fifa2k1 or nhl2k1 or half life, I get a black screen and computer doesnt respond and i have to push the reset key.

 

Thats basically it. Is there any way I could get around this problem. Secondly, in AGP 4X mode, in DXDIAG, the AGP Test freezes. In AGP 2X mode, it works fine.

I have made some further tests and came to the conclusion that everything works fine in AGP 2X mode. But when I switch to 4X, the direct 3d test using Hardware Accel. doesnt work in DXDIAG. The AGP Texturing test works perfectly in both modes. I also tried the 6.49 drivers but nothing works.

 

Please help.

Miku, I have same exact system configuration as yours but I have P3-750 and Creative Annihilator2 (Geforce2). I don't get any problems with game until I install Via 4in1 driver. Right now my system is running w/o Via 4in1 driver and it works fine. I am suspecting that it might be the VIA's AGP driver.

having an asus ge-force 1 (6800 and the same mainboard i shuold have the same problem, but dont, , i use the 5.33 drivers and the VIA drivers, tho i'd suggest going to http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/recommended/q261606/default.asp to get the VIA chipset update
