ancker 0 Posted January 13, 2001 I currently have an Abit be6 running a Celeron 400. I plan to upgrade to an Abit VP6 and (2) P3 700's. I would like to know if there are any issues i should take into consideration? http://www.ancker.net (click on "custombox" to see my setup) Thanks Ancker Jade Share this post Link to post
Napalm 0 Posted January 15, 2001 None, go for it ... it's a whole different world with 2 CPU's. Oh yea, don't expect it to be much faster than a single 700 mhz ... it will only help out with programs that take advantage of it (Quake 3, Photoshope ...) Share this post Link to post
ancker 0 Posted January 15, 2001 Will Windows 2000 Pro automatically turn on multiple CPU support? Or do i have to set it up somewhere? Share this post Link to post
CUViper 0 Posted January 15, 2001 if you run the install, then yes, it will automatically use both cpu's. if you don't re-install, then you need to change the driver. Go to device manager, open "computer catagory", and open the system driver there. go to the driver tab, and click update driver. go next, choose display a list of drivers, choose show all hardware of this class. now choose one of the multiprocessor choices.
