Slow booting time !!!!!!! HELP!!!!

Recommended Posts

Guys, i recently bulit a new althon system, it is a 1ghz and with a kt133 motherboard(msi k7tpro2A) and 256mb PC133 ram, i have updated via 4in 1 drivers, under win me, everything is fine, but under win2k, everything are fine EXCEPT 1 thing, VERY SLOW booting time, just on the windows logo page, loading, it takes at least 2 mins, i don't know why, but before when i use win2k with my old system(a celeron 466 with 192mb ram) it takes much shorter time to boot than now, anyone can help?

does it got anything to do with the VIA chipset?

thx

and also, i haven't been tweaking my windows at all.

Do you have an SBLive?? if so, there is a post on the boards right now that fix this problem. In the windows/system folder there is a file called devldr32.exe (or something like that, im too lazy to look at the post again), and if you move that file from the windows/system folder to the "startup" folder it should help.
