sblive 5.1 crack (how to fix it)

I have tried what other people have said to do one this messageboard but it does seem to work... anyone have any help to get the "cracks" away??

128mb ram

creative 12x dvd and dxr3decoder card

30 gb maxter 7200 hd

40 gb maxter 5400 hd

hp 8100 cdrw (4x2x24)

acerlan ALN-320 10/199 Ethernet adapter

win 2000 adv server with service pack 1

if there is crackling using the regular drivers that come with 2k i think they would work on a 5.1 since its essentially the same card...other than the default MS win2k drivers and creatives drivers there isnt much that can be done to stop it crackling. So just try one or the other drivers and see if they help otherwise we are waiting for creative to release drivers sometime in the next millenium. By time like Blackcomb is in the final RCs we might see new and better sb drivers.

Some people have said they got it fixed by using the Creative Liveware 3 and DirectX 8. They went into the diagnostic program (Start >> Run... >> dxdiag) and set the sound acceleration all the way up.
