Korupt666 0 Posted February 9, 2001 Hi! Im new to the forums! I'm having a problem with Windows 2000 Pro. I have a Sounblaster PCI128 and whenever I play MP3's or games I get a scratching noise and some static along with the sounds of whatever im playing. Please help!! Share this post Link to post
JimmyK 0 Posted February 10, 2001 There are 2 basic kinds of PCI128's that are based on 2 different chips actually. If you could tell us what chipset it is based on, IT would be a bit easier to help you with your problem. Share this post Link to post
Korupt666 0 Posted February 11, 2001 woops, Well.. I bought it as a SB PCI128 but in windows 2000 pro it recognizes it as a "Creative AudioPCI(ES1370), SB PCI 64/128(WDM)" so im guessing it uses the 1370 chip. Share this post Link to post
JediBaron 0 Posted February 13, 2001 First make sure that you actually have the 1370 chip by opening up your machine and looking at the card. Then get the Win2k driver here: http://www.creativehelp.com/files/download.asp?OS=Win2k&prod=sb_ensq Should do you better than the default drivers. Make sure to download the Win2k driver file after you get the install program. Creative's got really stupid and complex install instructions so be carefull Ps - If you've installed any of the Creative junk that came on the cd you'll probably want to remove before you install the drivers from the site.
