In the market for new mobo.....

Well you see I did have this lovely ASUS CUSL2 motherboard.

Great piece of kit and worked like a charm.

Then all of a sudden it did go wrong.

So here in the UK I sent it back to where it came from (dabs.com) and was quoted some 4-6 weeks turn around due to it having to go back to ASUS.

So anyway, I phone dabs.com after 4 weeks, they never received the package!

Amtrak, the good old courier company here in the UK have managed to loose my motherboard!

So, to cut an even longer story shorter, I've got about £120 to spend on a new motherboard.

ASUS CUSL2-C would be an obvious replacement.

I must admit a dual-capable mobo would be nice but of course this means moving away from the Intel chipsets, something I'm always a little bit scared about doing.

So, please don't point me in the direction of reviews etc.

Imagine you have a PIII 933 CPU with 2x256MB PC133 DIMM's sat on your desk and you have to buy a motherboard for them to go in.

Which one would you go for??

If you can get it, get a Tyan Trinity 400. It is the best mobo Ive ever seen. If you want something with overclocking capabilities, this wont do it. Other wise go with Asus or Abit.

815 chipset All the way. I have the Intel Mobo and love it. Stable as hell. No overclocking options though.

I am running PIII-933 with 4x128 PC-133 (512 mb total) on Abit SA6R (Intel 815E chipset) motherboard. It is very stable and you can do overclocking if you want.
