Jille 0 Posted March 16, 2001 Please help me. I have a Soundblaster PCI128 with a CT4700 chip, and it gives a squeeking sound in Windows 2k... Anyone knows how to solve this, or what drivers can be used to solve this? Thanks in advance Share this post Link to post
rgodart 0 Posted March 17, 2001 I'm afraid creative is too lazy to make win2k drivers fot the sb128 (ct4700). i had to throw it out of my comp and replace it by de guillemot fortissimo (which is pretty cheap), which works great in wink2 out of the box (the default win2k drivers are great). Brian Frank 0 Posted March 17, 2001 Ive got the Guillemot Fortissimo and love it. Runs flawlessly w/o drivers right out of the box. Seems that Creative thinks they can do whatever they please since they just about own the sound card market. Older SB cards like the SB16 PCI still work and ISA cards work fine, but these Live cards seem to have a load of problems, and its just because Creative thinks that they can treat customers like crap. ATI did this with one of their Video cards, and that didnt sit well. The only problem with the fortissimo is if you plug in a splitter cable to the front output, sound only comes out strong on one side, but if you use headphones, you cant tell.
