-Toppy- 0 Posted March 19, 2001 Hi all Ive two probs with my system, Firstly when you shutdown you get 0x0000009f (Driver_power_state_failure) Ive checked my drivers etc and cant find anything mad but Im not really going to do another reinstall of win2k to find the issue.. The other thing is that after a certain period of time(say 1hr) certain commands become really slow to operate. ie rightclick the mouse in explorer, or open the file menu in explorer. To do either may take upto 30secs! This I really want to figure out cause its really a pain in the backside. Brian Frank 0 Posted March 20, 2001 Make sure youve got at the least a 250 Watt Power supply, but a 300 is much better. Also, do you defrag your hard drive? That could cause a lot of slowdown. Id also check around to see if any of your problems may have to do with the SB Live. Creative doesnt seem to have very good support. Check your ram if you have more than one stick, take one out at a time and leave the other ones in. If not, see if you can borrow a stick to test things out with-just make sure its at least 128MB, or you will be really slow. You may also want to make sure you have the latest virus definitions just to make sure you have the best defense against the viruses. Share this post Link to post
SimiaN 0 Posted March 20, 2001 did this start happening after you installed anything in particular? is it a fresh install? what apps are loaded? are all of your drivers the current ones from manufacturers site? disable APM unless you have at least SP1. when did it start occuring? after you installed what? ------------------ I cant help it I have Attention Deficit...hey whats that over there?
