SCALE UPDATE: Go UpSCALE, test multiple distros and make sure your registration is in!

LOS ANGELES – Attendees at the Southern California Linux Expo (SCALE) will be able to go “UpSCALE†on Friday, Feb. 19, as the expo provides a series of lightning talks that evening.

Based on the O’Reilly Media “Ignite†talks which have occurred at OSCON, the UpSCALE talk is a presentation in which participants are given five minutes to talk on a subject, accompanied by 20 slides which are displayed for 15 seconds each.

If you think you’re up to the pace of a quick presentation and can wow an audience in five minutes or less, UpSCALE is for you. For more information, visit http://www.socallinuxexpo.org/scale8x/blog/upscale-talks-scale-8x

Attendees to SCALE can also test out the latest distros on their machines at the Multi-Distro Booth, where representatives from the larger distros such as Fedora and Ubuntu will be on hand to provide help in trying out a new distro. Bring your laptop to give one of these distros a test drive.

Registration is still open for SCALE and the event staff is encouraging folks to get on board early to take advantage of the specials involved.
