news 28 Posted March 20, 2010 We’re pulling double-duty this weekend, as we are reviewing the newest chipset from AMD – 890GX – as well as one of the first mATX motherboards to be equipped with it – the MSI 890GXM-G65<http://www.hardcoreware.net/msi-890gxm-g65-motherboard-review/> . AMD intends this to be a replacement for the 790GX chipset, but in more ways than one it is more similar to the 785G. That is a good thing of course, since the 785G sports solid performance and Blu-Ray hardware decoding. They added a new Southbridge – SB850 – to replace the somewhat aging SB7×0. It sports some new features such as SATA 6Gbps connectivity, but is conspicuously missing native USB 3.0 support. Does the tiny MSI 890GXM-G65 have what it takes to justify its relatively high asking price compared to 785G boards? http://www.hardcoreware.net/msi-890gxm-g65-motherboard-review/ Thanks!
